A message from the CEO:
Dear Extended Club Family,
I'm writing to let you know of some new developments that I hope will fulfill a critical community need. On top of a supply shortage, lack of child care for essential workers is a pressing issue in the health care industry.
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Central NH is in the process of setting up two emergency child care centers in assisted living facilities. We also have reached out to the State of NH to see where else we may be able to help.
Our professional child care staff has always been our most important asset. Now we feel it is important to share this resource to ensure that essential employees are able to go to work. I've communicated with my staff and given them the opportunity to work in these new centers, if they feel comfortable doing so.
We also are looking at the possibility of reopening a few of our own locations. The major hurdle to opening is finding the funding to make sure locations are deep-cleaned each night and that proper health screenings are conducted by trained staff. Program staff will have to learn a whole new way of operating to ensure everyone’s safety. Starting this week, dinner programs will operate in three communities: Suncook, Laconia and Concord. Suncook actually started on Friday and served 30 people. We'll be prepared to serve 150 dinners to go. The response from the community during this time has been tremendous. I thank you again for your outpouring of support.
As always, please feel free to reach out to me at (603) 410-5172 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
